I've borrowed my neighbor's stunning, good tempered Leghorn to "service" my red sex links for a month or two, hoping for some tip-top egg layers. It's been nearly two weeks and the young stud is mostly just interested in, uh, snoozing and bugs. Hey, just like other species (heh heh)!
I'm willing to wait for a while, it just seems so strange, I know he can perform, I've watched him harrass the byjeezus out of the neighbor's girls. A lot. Over and over.

Oh my dear. A chickens performance lasts about 3 seconds and I am sure you are missing the action. You can;t be there 24/7 and if there is a roo, there are fertile eggs.

My rooster is the same way. I thought he was just being bullied by my hens.
That helps me too. I have a new EE rooster 6 months old and we never see him do his business we have had him for about a week now and we want one of our ladies to sit on some eggs my buff brahma is border line broody for the first time and I want her to have babies.
