Roo With Bumblefoot But Can't Find Core. Any Help Please

I just finished surgery on one of my hens and it was exactly as described.....really not for the faint of heart, but necessary nonetheless. I'm not sure if I got all the gunk out, but there sure was tons of it. It's amazing how tolerant chickens are. She was so good. She just laid there and let us do our surgery....crazy! Anyway, I soaked it in epsom salts to clean it, then again before I cut. There wasn't any scab (hole) visible until after I soaked it....it was weird. Anyway, then I cut the top of the foot open where there was a bulbous area coming up between the toes and fluid poured out. Then I cut the bottom of the foot and chunks of stuff came out. I thought it was done, but when I resoaked it, it still looked like there was something in it. So, I squeezed and prodded some more and another huge chunk of stuff came out and a black chunk??? I'm really hoping I got it all. How do you know?

Just did dual bumblefoot surgery on one of my hens. She had big, brown scabs on both feet. No swelling, and no lameness whatsoever. She's a VERY LARGE Dixie Rainbow that is kinda lazy and never did move around much. One of the scabs cracked open and was bleeding a LOT, which is when I noticed something was wrong. I normally check my hens all over at least once every couple of weeks, but I went on a 2 week vacation, so of course something like this would happen while I'm gone. :barnieI was so busy the week before and after vacation that I didn't even get a chance to check their feet.
But anyway, I did my first ever bumblefoot surgery and I'm not sure how it went...when I cut around the scab and pulled it off there was A LOT of bleeding, and I do mean A LOT. It was bad enough that I had to tourniquet her leg to keep her from bleeding out, and I didn't cut that deep. I didn't even see a core, just pinkish-white flesh that bled profusely unless the leg was tied off. I don't know what to do...I feel like the worst chicken Mom ever.:hit
