I don't think it's gape worm. He appears to have no trouble breathing and is running around just fine. No sign of mites or lice. He just has his mouth open about 1/2 an inch almost all the time. He's a LF EE roo. He's not the swiftest bird intelligence wise, even for a chicken, and gets pounded by the banty roos 1/4 his size if he crosses into their territory. It doesn't help his appearance to have his beak hanging open so much. My DH calls him a shorty bus chicken.
