I just loaded some pics to my photostream. Can you please take a look specifically at the RIR and tell me if it is possibly a roo? I noticed his comb and wattles developing more so then the others and he's attempting to mimick the sounds of meat chicken roos. If you notice any other that may be roos, let me know.
Thanx~

Ooops...sorry about that, age would help

They are approx. 19 weeks. We got them at Easter.
Sorry about the blurry pics...it's hard to get them not moving

Oh boy, that means we've got some work to do...yikes! I've got to get those meat chickens out of there...they are going to the butcher soon, but in the mean time I don't want them trampling the eggs. That aren't the most graceful of birds!

Plus I'm inquiring about getting a roo to mate with the girls, but didn't want to get one too soon and find that we already have one.

So this might be a dumb question, but will the meat chickens mate with the BR, RIR and Buffs? Relly wasn't looking for that combo.

So I vote 'hen', if yours is indeed older than 16 weeks.

They might mate, depending on the age of the meat birds, but you don't have to incubate the eggs. If you have Cornish X they are probably too young to mate.

Duh...your'e right ve, sorry about that. I saw the date 4/13 and for some reason was thinking March instead of April. So that means they are about 15 weeks.

ddawn, all the birds are the same age...15 weeks. If I remember correctly

and that's rare, the guy told us they were white rocks!?!? Then kept referring to them as meat chickens from there on out so I'm really not sure.

Thanx for the input and that's a lovely little roo there, Eggs4sale
