Roo???

I say pullet, too! She looks like one of my SLWs that just began laying eggs last week at 22 weeks old. Here is a pic of Sterling at around 16 weeks:

My SLW is named Sterling too! The jury is still out on the gender of mine though, wattles look pretty red but the comb is small and no hackle or saddle feathers yet.

How old is yours? We agonized for weeks over our two SLWs! I waited until they were 16 weeks before posting pics of them. I just wasn't ready to hear the roo word! Sterling is laying now but we are still waiting on Beauty. She is definitely a pullet just lagging behind her sister in the egg laying department. And she was the one we worried about the most because her comb and wattles were pink/red early!

Well, I got an egg today from one of the Wyandottes, but I'm not sure which one.....I plan on stalking them this weekend so I can solve this mystery. It looks so little against my older pullets eggs.

I just posted a pic of our other SLW named Beauty on your thread! I didn't realize that they were pics of your Sterling! Beauty was 16 weeks when that pic was taken so a little younger than your Sterling! I'm glad that we both ended up with girls! I would love to have a rooster but not allowed to due to our city's noise ordinance. Our girls are loud enough!

That's so funny! I saw your picture and they do look very similar. Yours has a little better lacing than mine. I can technically have roos but DH so far has been nervous about upsetting the neighbors. We did however have a hawk attack last Monday while he was off from work and started wondering if we would need a roo for protection. The dang thing was sitting on our back fence just looking at them after swooping through the run. Nobody was injured but it sure was scary.
