rooftop hens

Please tell me you mean their coop roof, and not your house roof.
I find the dominant hen often sleeps the highest, too.
It might be a dominance thing.
It might be because they admire the view from the roof.
It might just be because they want to drop tiles on your head.

My house roof and my neighbours too!
It looks like they are looking for a place to lay their eggs.

Wait- actually the house roof?? What kind of chickens do you own??
I mean, they could be looking for an egg laying nest.... interesting place to start looking though.
What does your neighbor say to chickens stomping on his roof?

All my chickens roost in the biggest tallest tree in my yard. They jump up on their coop and then up into the tree. Even my 12 week pullets did it their first night in the big pen. The goats have been nice enough to clear the bottom branches. Lol.

My coop is taller (not trying to compete), it a shed I converted so I can walk in the doorway without stooping (I’m not very tall though).

My goats only try to jump on our cars and eat our pretty plants and the chicken feed when they get to get out (sneaky tricks that they are) when they sneak through the fence.
