Rooish behaviors this young, really???

I can hardly believe that I have seen this today but my 7 week old RIR roo is trying to mount the little pullets. He is grabbing their necks like they do. I sure hope this doesn't tell me he is going to be a brute with the girls when he gets older.

is so appropriate. We've had a roo start to "fight" at 3 weeks. It was at that time we suspected he was a roo and he did turn out to be one. The mounting business at this age...ugh!

and tell him they are your hens! Seriously, its one way they say to ensure you're Alpha Roo. I'm sure you disrupt him each time he does it but keep it up, that's YOUR hen he's messin' with.
 
I just don't want to deal with nasty roos. I have a good one now but he a mixed breed and I want to breed for layers so I got some RIR roos.
