Last night was our chickens' first night in the coop. I walked in this morning wearing my flip flops not even thinking about it. My mind was on how they had fared their first night out. I now need to wash the poop from my shoes.

What do you wear into the coop? I'm thinking about getting a pair of "chicken Crocs" for milder weather and will think about what to do for the snowy months.

Thanks!

I have thick soled sandals in the barn for when I go out there bare foot, which is most of the time in nice weather. And feet can be washed off too.

Lately I've been wearing wellies as the English weather has been horrible!!

Normally I wear trainers.... I scan always wipe off poop my shoes on the grass :D (It helps that my chickens usually don't poo on the main path through the coop)

I wear boots or crocs. I've found that red toe nails really gets you some attention if you're barefoot, not a great idea.

I bought myself and my little girl rubber boots that stay outside the back door, mine have zebra stripes :D

my girl friends son tried the flip flop method today cuz they are easier to wash and the 2 geese kept trying to eat his toes lol he had to keep moving away from them and they were like lost puppies going after his toes... I bet he doesnt try that one again.

Ever have pasture pie squish between the toes? And chickens do this all the time and amazingly live. But I don't go bare foot in the pen.
