What does it mean when a hen goes bloody? Also, are there any other terms I should know? I'm brand new to chickens but I feel like my hobby is going to go bigger. I feel the need to educate myself further haha

A broody hen is one that wants to hatch out some chicks. She will sit on her eggs for weeks only getting up occasionally to drink, eat and poop. Sometimes they don't even have to be sitting on eggs to be broody. If you want chicks and have a rooster, this can be a good thing. If you don't have a rooster and or don't want chicks, this is a bad thing because a broody hen lays no eggs. As far as other terms go, there are plenty. Just keep reading the forums and you will learn them. You don't have to know all the terms to take great care of your pullers and cockerels though. Ok, I threw that in there on purpose. A puller is a female chicken that is less than 1 year old and a cockerel is a male chicken less than. 1 year old.
