Welcome to BYC. Use the command that you use to make them ignore rabbits, but never trust them out of your sight. They are only doing what their DNA tells them to do. Invisible fence or hot wire around the pen/coop would probably work.

I don't know a lot about dogs or introducing dogs to chickens. I got lucky and my doberman only likes to eat the poop and not the chickens. My neighbor got rid of their collie after it broke out of its pen and into the chickens pen numerous times and killed numerous birds. Honestly if you have bird dogs, even extremely well trained ones, I would just assume they are at risk for killing your chickens and leave it at that. My dog is always well trained until you leave the room and then it all goes to poop. Again, not an expert opinion, but it's how I'd feel if I were in your shoes.

I've never had any luck with my dogs. I have to keep them away from my chickens.

thank you there is some helpful tips. my youngest French Brit has a really strong prey drive. he hints and kills lizards and often gets birds that land and don't see him
