So in the morning sometime my husband and i will be buying chicks for the first time. Will Buckeye Chickens be a good selection for us? We have young grandchildren and we're also new at raising chickens. The purpose is to have eggs, maybe 4h and I'm sure this will be very enjoyable for all of us. Thank you for the answers and advice! Buckeyes are nice birds. I’ll be switching over to them this year and breeding for fun. They have nice dispositions and are BEAUTIFUL mahogany red.
