Hi All,
My husband and I adopted a small flock (5), but we lost one
of chickens early this fall. We are ordering some baby chicks this weekend to add to our backyard flock. I have a pretty good handle on how to raise them once they arrive with a heat lamp, etc, but what does the overall temperature need to be in the room that their pen is in.
They will arrive sometime in March and the average daily temp here is about 35 during the day and 10 at night for that month. Do they need to be inside at room temp with the heat lamp at about 100 or can they be protected from drafts in say the mudroom, that is unheated with a heat lamp?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you
