Silkie cross. Comb and comb color are incorrect for a pure Silkie. He also looks to have some hard feathers, also incorrect for a pure Silkie.

They're rather fragile, unfortunately, as young chicks. Takes them a while to start thriving.

I didn’t think I’d like dealing with them either but I got 2 bantams free with a purchase of 6 standard chicks at the feed store so I chose a partridge Silkie and a Cochin.
Omg I’ve fallen in love with my Silkie!!

This chick is fearless, the best forager and doesn’t take no crud from anyone lol
She’s my little pal and loves to follow me because I find all the earwigs for her.
I can even pick her up and show her bugs hiding in the hinges of the coop doors and she eats them while I’m holding her.

Looks like a pure silkie to me.
Has some issues that points to being from poor breeding but not that points to being a mixed breed IMO.
