Roos and feathers

Hello everyone,
Not sure what happened, but I found about 20 feathers or so on the ground. Recently I've had problems with a couple predators (coyote and hawk). So I assumed I lost another hen, however when I counted them none were missing.
Can my roos fight and be pulling feathers? I have never seen them really fight, maybe chase each other. I didn't notice any roos or hens with missing feathers. Any opinions? Thanks!

Absolutely! Or your chickens could be molting. It’s that time of year..... good luck with your flock!

Do you live up in the top half of the planet? If so, the days are getting shorter and that will trigger molt in chickens that are over a year old. Out of nineteen chickens, I pick up a gallon of feathers every few days.

Could have been a predator attempt....
....or they are molting, as already stated numerous times.
