roo's crest and waddle suddenly pale

I just noticed today that my 2 month old red booted bantam roo's waddle and crest has gone very pale. It was always bright red...What would cause this? Is there anything I can do if it is a problem? The other red booted male's crest and waddle are still bright red. They are still on grower feed. We don't give them anything else, but they do graze for bugs and grubs from our fenced in back yard during the day. I am so afraid that I will wake up and he will be gone

when my 2 hens combs turned pale ,was because other chickens were chasing them away from water and food, we had to hand feed those two till i expanded the coop , after they had more room they quit picking on those two
