On of my suspected Roos just crowed like three times today(I'm 95% sure it was a crow) but he's only 2 1/2 months old... I thought they didn't start crowing until 4 months? Could I be wrong.. maybe it wasn't a crow?

And any tips on getting him to be friendly? I don't want him to turn mean when he gets older.

Ha ha! Yeah, it can be funny. Some try to crow and fight with other males right out of the egg.
From what I've seen, there are three methods to prevent aggressiveness.
1. Treat him like a pet
2. Ignore him completely
3. Correct problems as problems arise

All my young roosters run the other way from me, which I don't mind one bit. My roosters never try attacking me ever. So I personally don't want over friendly young roosters. When they mature they respect me and give me no troubles.

I had one that crowed at 5 weeks old. He was so scared by the noise that came out, he didn't crow again until he was about 8 months old. They all eventually crow.

Hmm... so just buy new chicks and 'hide' them under a broody hen that lies on unfertilized eggs? Lol. ok... (until things change in the future)

Thank you!
