UPDATE: Posting pics of other chicks! Need more BOY/GIRL identification!

Okay, all you photo-examining chicken gender professionals, I've got a few for you to figure out (all around 5 weeks)... I'm wondering because he/she seems to have developed a comb faster than the other breeds though he/she is smaller... like runt smaller. Is this typical for a roo? It's a partridge rock supposedly.

What do you think-- Partridge rock roo or pullet? (People are saying ROO on the partridge rock.)

Again, if someone can tell me what helps you ID them at around 5-6 weeks, that would be great... is it the redness, the size of the comb, body size?

You have 2 cockerals, one being a Partridge Rock(most likely) and the other being a Silver Laced Wyandotte

Oh, sorry i didn't read what you wrote. I guess I was right about it being a PR

there both roo's but i agree, it's name should be rado flyer.

Noooooo... not roosters. So what are the best qualifying characteristics for identifying whether we've got roos or pullets? I know they eventually crow.

The SLW doesn't have a comb at all but is starting to get a little rosy. Maybe I'll do another post with all the chicks I have so I can know how many we'll have to get rid of. Sad... :-(

They were supposed to be all pullets from a hatchery (ordered from a locally owned country store nearby).

Both look like roos to me also. Sorry, I've gotten a large percentage of roos this year.

Thanks for the help on the partridge rock everyone... now for the rest of the brood!

The partridge I say is boy but you silver laced I'm saying girl as my silver laced is only a week older and has much more comb and even has large wattles. Keep watching the SLW, but at this point I say girl.
