The first one looks like a roo, but I think the second is a pullet. They are both so beautiful!

Oh really? What are the differences that make you say pullet? The first one is a jerk, and very brazen LOL which makes me really think Roo.
That would be great, the light one is a friendly one and I was disapointed at the thought that it was a Roo, plus I didnt want BOTH to be Roos LOL I want some blue eggs!

First one is a cockerel. No eggs from him. The second one will keep ya guessing! At first glance, it is a pullet, and it may stay a pullet, but I'd be watching that rust coming in. Rust in wings is a typically male trait. Good luck!

Here is another shot of the rust coloring

The first one's comb and wattles are red, but the second's aren't. Well I'm glad that makes you happy.

First one is a roo, second one I can't call just yet. I have a white EE/Am that stayed all white and turned into a roo, so I won't guess on solid colors that young. But no doubt, first one is a roo - that red coming in on the wings is a dead giveaway. SO far nothing looks roo-ish on the second.

So usually if the comb and waffles are darker red they are Roos?

It makes me very happy, I was hoping out of the 28 chicks, MOST would be hens LOL

I got really good at knowing the sexes of our mixed breed chicks at a few days old. But these pbs had me stumped so I randomly picked chicks LOL praying I was picking girlie babies.

So normally "solid" colored EE or Am are girlies?

Nope. Just harder to tell. =)

If red starts coming in on the wing that's a huge marker for a boy. Bigger redder three row pea combs before a certain age also generally means boy. However, there are usually a few 'stealth roosters' in all of my hatches that don't have red combs, red on the wing, etc - and are STILL boys, just late bloomers. And you can certainly have a completely solid color EE or AM boy - just the red on the wing tells you for SURE that it's a boy.

Here's my white guy:

EE boy with telltale red coming in:
