I hatched my first Easter egger eggs in May and thought these two were hens, but last week was told they are Roos. They do flap wings a lot but not crowing or showing signs of mating with hens, though there is a more dominant roo in the run. Help a girl out - Roos or Hens?

Age? They do look like cockerels to me, see how the feathers on their back droops over to the side? Those are male specific saddle feathers. Their tails should develop the more obvious rooster feathers soon enough. Lovely boys regardless.

Minus the feathered feet, yours look about the same as my EE cockerel who is 23 weeks old.

Thanks! Yeah they do look very similar. Both are 25 weeks. I noticed it does look like they’re getting hackle feathers but the tail isn’t quite as pronounced as yours. They are bigger than my hens but smaller than my BCM Roo same age.

Another pic with other chickens. They are on far right.
