roost for chicks

I know there are lots of questions about chicks roosting. I see it come up often. So I thought I would share my solution. I made my 3 week old chicks a roosting tree. They took to it right away. It took me about 5 minutes to make it. I used a base that is a 1x12x24, screwed a 2x4x18 in it as a stump, then screwed pieces of firewood to that. It is very sturdy and balanced. Almost an instant brooder roost

That is too cute. Very neat idea! I have babies coming the 10th and I will def. have to make something like this. Last time I just used a larger stick, but there was not enough room for all of them and it wasnt very strudy either.
