Roost Golden Pheasants

I just got two hens and one male Golden Pheasants. Do they need a roost to perch on or do they sleep on the ground? I had two Ringnecks that would only sleep on the ground.

Most ornamental pheasants prefer to roost off the ground at night.

Last night I bought a 2x2x8 from Home Depo for $1.50 to make the roost. They love it.
