Roost hight in coop.

Hi,

Wondering how high off the floor of my coop floor the roosts need to be. I know higher is better, but due to the small size of mty coop I'm limited. 12-14" up ok?

I was also thinking of making a roost in the run (hight not an issue there). Is 3' up good... Is there an "ideal" height?

Higher is better. You want the roost to be the second highest thing in the coop. Ventilation goes above the roost, then the roost, then the nesting box. Don't have nests higher than the roost or the hens will roost in the nests.
