Roost - How far away from Wall

DH & I are making our first coop - a converted shed. I can find all sorts of answers about roosts - how much space, height, what it's made from. What I haven't been able to find is how far away from the wall should it be. I'm thinking about 18", DH thinks it should be closer to 2 1/2'.

Ours are about 18" - And there's still plenty room between the poo line on the ground and the wall.

I am pretty sure I read 18" somewhere else as well. You can put it closer but then run a higher risk of having to scrub the wall. Yuck!

Welcome!!! Yes, the general concensus I found around here while building ours was 15" - 18". Ours are 18" as well as spaced 18" apart.

I put mine 15" away from the wall. I covered my walls with those 4X8 sheets of shower panels for easy cleaning.

I like the shower panel idea...i bet that nakes cleanup super easy!
