Roost pole

The roost pole in the coop is wood and wider then this, I just stuck this in their play yard to see what they'd do, it's a plastic broomhandle. yet some folks said the roost pole in the coop is too small? I did add a small solar light to the coop to see if that would help them be more comfortable moving around in the coop. It seems they are using more of the room. Even showing some interest in the nest boxes. One Red and One Rock seem to have more red comb and a little bigger then the other 2. Hoping for eggs soon.

Yes, the roost should be bigger. The link attached should help. The roosts should be bigger so that when a chicken roosts, their feathers cover their feet.
