I've been reading in other threads too that if you live in colder areas it's better to use wider roosts like 2x4's so that they can keep their feet warm. That's what I'm going to do. We just had snow today... unbelieveable. And Nanaimo an hour from us just got over a foot! This is crazy! We're usually known for having mild winters here.
Someone please answer my post about poop bins and if they can also be installed higher up the wall with a removable slide out for easy cleaning. Also if the bin could be 8 to 10 inches with the screen on top. I cannot see a reason for a big old box just for poop if you plan on keeping it cleaned out on a regular basis.
Speckledhen, What kind of oil do you use to oil your roosts? I have been thinking of doing that for a while to make cleaning easier but I can't decide what would work best without being too sticky or slippery. Thanks.
