I am a new chicken momma, I ordered a coop online and when it came, I noticed instead of a roost bar it has a secondary level with a ramp. My question is should I remove the second level and put in a roost bar for my girls? I have only seen evidence of them being up there once. When they sleep, they are all grouped together on the bottom from what I seen when I close up the roost at night. I have attached a picture of the upper level as well as the ramp. Suggestions welcomed.

I don't know how much space there would need to be. The first level is about 27inch the second one is about 21 inches.

I could not open any of the doors, it is rainy, and all the girls insist on being inside. This is the product picture the second floor is at about the top of the flowers.

Very interesting set up, I've never seen one like this. Yeah I'd see about taking out the "floor" between the two floors (might be as simple as knocking boards out, but I don't know how it's put together structurally) and just put the roost across the new open space, about where the floor originally was. That way they're higher than the nests but still on the low side since landing space is going to be tight.

Or leave some of the second “floor” to support poop trays, if you would have enough headroom over the roosts?
