Roost question

I have looked and looked and haven't found the answer so here it is. I need to know not how high to place my roost but rather how far down from the ceiling. Assuming large breed birds. My coupe is 42" inside height at the front sloping to 36" at the rear. I was thinking maybe 12" down. There are no nails or screws hanging down either.

I'd put the roost 10 inches away from the walls and 18 inches off the ceiling. The 10 inches off the wall will keep the chickens from pooping on the walls and leaving streaks. You can get away with 12 inches but you have plenty of height in your coop so 18 will make it easier for the chickens to jump up onto the roost.
