roost

Any info out their on roost design. I will have 12 cochin bantams in an 8' x 8' coop with a 8' x 8' attached run. Is there an advantage to a ladder roost over parallel ones at the same level. I plan to use a droppings board under the roost with an outside cleanout door. Thanks!
