Rooster’s foot

My buckeye rooster, very gentle boy, he is two years old. I am trying to comfort him due to a foot problem. It does not look like “bumble foot” instead his middle toe is very swollen. The toenail has fallen off but before this all came about i noticed his middle toenail changing color, looking somewhat darker. His toe is still very swollen. I’ve soaked his foot in epson salt in warm water, wrapped his foot with salve and still no change. Please some advice, thank you.

What does the bottom of the foot look like?
Infection of the foot is Bumblefoot. From what I can see he he has a break down of tissue on the toe. Can't tell exactly what's going on there.

From what I can see, general care is to soak the foot in Chlorhexidine, clean it well. Pat dry, then apply triple antibiotic ointment to the toe. Wrap. Keep him on dry bedding. Repeat daily. Monitor and evaluate the foot daily.

When you get photos of the bottom, I may change my mind on how to treat.
