It'd an old dog kernel, its quite big but enclosed, probably why they all like laying in it...
Originally it WAS a dog kernel but we couldn't stop our first layer laying in it then the rest of the hens started copying (our dog is a collie and guards them) so it was put in the chicken pen since pup never used it anyway she rathers sleeping under the old tractor.
