rooster attacked new chicken and drew blood

i think so i cleaned up the wound. the new ones are younger and one is a rooster i think he chalenged the big rooster. they all stick to gethor and stay in the corner of the coop

what i have done when I introduced new chickens to my flock is set up a "seperate" area in the corner of the run. (I took a hog panel and covered it in chick wire and put it in the corner with wire over the top area) that way they can see each other through the fence and get to know each other that way. I leave them in there for about 4 days or a week, and then when I turn them loose there is very little squabbling going on. They do have to work out the pecking order, but its not too bad usually

I had the same thing happen, but it's my hens beating up on my runt cockeral. I gave him a tepee yesterday and put no pick stuff on his head. (he was bleeding a bit) The tepee is just cardboard leaned up against the coop wall, held in by a couple of nails. I just went up there and saw him using it when one of my older hens came in the coop.

I'm on my 4th day of integration, and the 14 week olds are not allowed in the run yet. (3 cockerals, 2 pullets) The hens take the run, the babies stay in the coop. When a hen comes in the coop, 4 of the babies fly up on the roost, and my little guy who can't fly goes in his tepee. I'm hoping for peace soon.
