We have a rooster that we absolutely adore. He is about a year old and is as friendly to us as any of our hens - lets us hold him, he even sleeps on my leg the same as he did when he was a chick. However, he has been very aggressive toward one of our hens for several months. We figured they would work it out. Today I noticed he was being very polite with her but has now turned his aggression on another hen. Should I just let them figure it out? Is this normal behavior? Interestingly, the first hen is his biological mother and the most recent target is the hen that raised him. Strange huh?
