Rooster beat up by his sons?

Oh no I am so sorry for your loss. I was really routing for him to make it! At least he was able to pass away knowing that his humans loved him so much.

On a side note, I think you are a wonderful, special person for trying to save your lil rooster, taking him to the vet, and for being willing to keep him and care for him even when blind. It is comforting to know that there are chicken keepers out there like you Thank you so much!

What breed are these roosters supposed to be? Show a picture of mother or sisters. If my suspicion is correct you are all going about this in very much the wrong way. End result will be more dead if you do not get proactive. Avoid being negligent.

I'm sure he would be happy to further assist you with photos/tips for making separate housing and taking care of this beautiful breed.

Game Rooster (stag). You even have him on a tie cord. What do you have pen-wise to keep males apart?

We have two coops, and we had all the younger chickens in one and our original ones in another. I don't normally mix them because the hens are mean to the younger chickens. I hadn't noticed any aggression between the roosters before and we had a lot of rain and their yards were flooded so I let them out so I could move the water out and then of course they didn't want to go back in. I figured I'd just wait until they put themselves to bed. I'm kicking myself now for not relizing they are old enough to start fighting for dominance. And my husband is normally the one to handle the coop chores but he's out of town for a few more days. We were also in the process of finding the new roosters new homes. We don't breed we only did one hatch for more hens. Also, we recused Bruce(father)

Males that are developed like yours will start fighting any day. A rain event is not required to set it off. You have capacity for two roosters assuming you do not have any in addition to the games. One in each pen. Make certain roosters cannot fight through a common wall if pens connected. Piece of plywood 18" tall placed on bottom should make so they cannot see each other.

Bird lost was dubbed. Another was on a tie cord. You need to contact supplier of those if acquired second hand to get more expert advice on upkeep of those birds. Games are trickier to keep and you are trying to do like one does a regular backyard flock.

My husband made the tie cord so we could take a picture because the young roosters are jumpy and freak out easily. We didn't buy the new ones, and Bruce was a rescue so there wasn't a supplier. We also had no intention of keeping the new roosters, we only wanted Bruce. And I wasn't trying to say the rain made them fight, I made the mistake of letting them roam freely after I cleaned out there yards, not realizing they'd fight.

Who is the source for the rescue chickens? You got a breeding group so someone was in the know.
