Rooster beating on new hens!?!?!?

I have two younger new hens to introduce to my flock. I expected the older hens to be mean for awhile (which they are) but my rooster is the one who looks like he is trying to hurt the new ones! Will the situation work itself out or is there something I can do to intervene?

The situation will work itself out over time, however, if he's actually attacking them, I'd say you'll need to try a new approach. Perhaps, if you can, keep them in a separate area for a little while, but one that has a view and good enough "communication" with the current flock, the rooster especially included.

Remove the rooster unti the hens are integrated into the flock. This will take days not hours. When the flock settles down, reintroduce the rooster.
