i am a new flock owner and not sure what to expect .. I have 10 SLW one is a rooster and 3 Silkie hens well pullets . All about 13 weeks. My rooster seems to be more aggressive toward the silkies for some reason, not the SLW.. Is this normal behavior or should I be concerned. By aggressive I mean he chases and pecks them..

Silkies often do not fare well in a mixed flock as their unique appearance makes them an easy target *and* their feathering can impede their vision making the extra attention they draw hard to avoid. If/when it becomes physically harmful (not all chasing and pecking is harmful - it is how the pecking order in a flock is set and maintained - the tolerance level for how much you can stand to allow is something each person must decide for themselves), that is the time to decide which birds you do/don't want to continue housing together.
