I have a Black silkie Rooster by accident last year and decided to keep it even though they are not allowed in my town. I love his big eyes and he’s quite a sweetheart. This has been my only rooster so I’m pretty new with their quirky behaviors. He loves being around me and even stops crowing when I’m around. Every time i look at him and give him attention, he immediately starts pecking on the ground regardless if there is anything or not. It reminds me of a shy boy that has a crush(on me). Why does he act this way?

Stop it,that’s courting behavior and he shouldn’t be doing it to you,it’s kinda like dominating you as well and considering you as a hen.

I dunno about that. He barely weighs 1 lb.
Ive has him for over a year and hasn’t done a thing. He’s recently lost 2 girls that were always around him.
It’s a silkie, the roosters are more docile than other roosters.

Well since you have had him for over a year,he probably wont do anything, but I would still stop it just in case.
