I have one rooster who will temp me with his invisible goodies to get me to come into his area. He taps my leg with his beak asking me to pick him up. He has always been very personable since a chick (he is two years old now), and knows the difference between me, hens, and other roosters.
No harm is done in accommodating his request.
While this behavior is dominant towards other roosters and hens how do we know what he's thinking when dealing with us? Only those who know roosters as pets can speculate on that.
