rooster behaviors with chickens

I have 1 rooster with 10 hens .he is 16 weeks old same age as 7 of the hens just built a new coop with plenty of room . got up yesterday and found blood in the coop. could not find any damage to any birds , I let them out for the day and he chased 1 all around the yard I have never had A rooster and don't know what to expect , can put this rooster with my hens ? he is very good looking, anyone have any ides for me ?

16 weeks is chicken puberty. He is now not just a friend to the girls but a suitor. Sounds like he is trying to mount your hens. If he starts tearing up the backs and necks of your girls you'll probably need to get rid of him. I know it is hard but trust me, don't try and separate them, it'll just make it worse.
