Found out that some more of my point of lay pullets will lay either today or tomorrow. Because my rooster is mating with them today. So that means they will lay today or Tomorrow. Because I have been waiting for them to start.now I've saw the signs today. And something weired my rooster done earlier today.he went in a nest box that no hens are using. Sat in there and made his noises. Showing the hens due to start laying soon the nest. It was cool.

Roosters will mate pullets up to 6 weeks before they start to lay. Cockeral will sometimes mate them before they are fully mature.

The rooster goes into the nestboxes to show hens where a good safe spot is to lay.

I figured that's what he was doing.showing them a spot to lay. Yeah those pullets is the first I've seen him mate them and they look ready to lay. Combs bright red and wattles red and hanging.I've got 4 laying so far.wait and see after today and tomorrow. I've got 9 pullets altogether and one pure adult blue Australorp hen

Yeah the egg song. That's funny. What they do. What chooks do you have. Look like leghorns hey
Oh, my profile pic was of my darling White Leghorn, Mr Peanut. He passed several years ago but I still love him. He was handsome, smart, sweet, loved me, would sit on my shoulder & loved cuddles. I have a mixed flock now, all hens. Believe it or not, I can't even recall...1 Easter Egger (Goldilocks) 1 Olive Egger (Maybelline, and boy was she ever born with "it"! She's stunning), 1 Buff Orphington (Mrs Butterworth), 1 Black Australorp (Veronica) & 1 Auracauna-ish looking gal (Cleopatra, because her fancy neck feathers reminded me of an Egyptian jeweled collar necklace!). They're so different from one another & from any breed I'd had before them. They have me happy just looking at 'em 😍

Cool.sounds like a lovely flock you have. I have 11 Australorp crosses. 9 pullets all just started laying.2 roosters and one pure blue Australorp hen. Then I have 9 RIR 8 week old chicks 3 of them are girls the rest I think are roosters.then a 8 week pure black Australorp girl. And 3 three month pure black and blue australorp.one blue rooster and one black rooster and a black girl. And that's it
