Rooster Blind in One Eye

This April I am going to incubate some eggs from my flock. I just found out that my only rooster is blind in one eye. He is less than one year old. Can he still mate with the hens so I get fertilized eggs or do I need a new rooster? I am planning on having him in a breeding flock of about six to nine hens. Thanks!

He can still be with the ladies. The hens may think he is winking at em, thus he'll will get more roostering done.

I had a hen once that had only one good eye and she still ate, drank and managed to get on the roosts at night.

Yea I have a hen with one blind eye. I forgot to ask if this will be a trait that will be inherited by the rooster's decendence. Thanks alot for your info!

You can keep the rooster. The chicks shouldn't have a blind eye.

OK thanks! Do think he will be able to be the only rooster in a breeding pen with up to nine other hens and keep them all mated with?
