Rooster Breed Advice needed

We have straight run chicks and will keep 1-2 males out of the group, and I think that my neighbor may also take 1 male. The others we will likely sell at auction. Given that we have males from potentially 9 breeds, I would like to know which ones you would recommend to keep based on your experiences.

We have a tween kid at home, and friends that come over, but chickens generally stay in a run with some supervised free-range time. We've had moderately human-aggressive roosters, and would like to avoid that (of course, that is an individual trait, so no promises, I understand). The neighbor has Brown Leghorns (flock of 8) and would like a smallish rooster that would better match the hens size (his last rooster was pretty big with scary long and curved spurs).

I’ve heard that RIRs can be difficult sometimes!

I have had and do have cream Legbar roosters they have been really good. My Marans roosters have been good for 6 months to a year and then went crazy mean don’t know why.

I am only familiar with your RIR on the list and Ameraucana from experience. I would pick the Ameraucana over the RIR any day, any time

Can't judge demeanor by breed, for the most part.
Hard also to judge demeanor when there are so many together,
once you start removing them behaviors can change.
Might just have to pick one or two and hope(and behave) for the best.
Cock/erel aggression can have just as much to do with the humans keepers behaviors as the bird itself. Space and housing can have an affect too.
What are your goals for having a male?

The blue Americauna stands a chance of being less aggressive, and there's the chance he could father some olive eggers. I'd vote to keep that one!

Okay, I have heard lots from folks with these breeds and here is my take:
Kick the RIR's out, they're rarely nice birds.
Same with Marans. In fact, Marans have an ugly rep, almost as ugly as Ayam Cemanis. They become monsters.
I would keep the Speckled Sussex. Amazing birds. Gentle natured and kind. Or the Legbar, perhaps. I would personally keep the SS and give the Legbar to the neighbor as they are smaller.
Ameraucana is a maybe, my friend had one and he was the meanest roo I ever met. Charged an electric fence constantly, screaming like a madman.
Haven't known any Erminette or Redcap so I can't say. Best bet is to keep the SS and Legbar, rehome the rest.

I'd have to second on the SS, almost all I have heard and seen leans to them being one of the calmest and friendliest in demeanor.

Keep the one that isn't insufferable.
Don't worry about breed, reputation or any of that other malarkey.
You're after the one that isn't a complete idiot, that is your keeper.
