Rooster breed?

Any ideas of what kind of rooster "Honcho" is? He was all black as a chick but as he got older, he got a lot more color. We just aren't sure what he is.

That color is basically birchen with some leakage, the color on the wings will continue to expand as he ages.

I can't see his legs well, but he could be a marans.
