rooster can't poop

Please advise, my bantam rooster is straining and can't poop

Does his vent have dried poop stuck to it? IF so give it a soak to get if off. Don't pull it off. If not or that don't work try inserting a little mineral oil in the vent. Not alot just enough for a lube. Help things move along better. Thats all I can think of. Hopefully somebody with experience will come along and help out

I think more information will be necessary....

How old is he?
What has he been eating?
Any recent changes in type or brand of feed?
Does he have access to feed not intended for him, either other chicken feed (such as layer feed) or other animal food?
Does he free range or is he confined?
When is the last time he pooped, if you know?
If you have seen a recent poop, what did it look like?
Is there any obvious sign of blockage? Pasty butt? Intestinal prolapse?
Does he otherwise act normally? Eating? Drinking? Scratching? Mating?

Your answers to the above questions and those in the sticky at the top of this forum will help those who might be knowledgeable enough to advise you. "Can't poop" isn't much to go on.

I tryed soaking his back end in warm water and gave him olive oil to eat in his food as well as putting a milliliter or so in a needleless syringe and gave it to him as an enema, but he is still not going, it's just brown water, and now, olive oil. He has been straining to go for hours.

Okay, he's a bantam, about 5 years old. He has always been very healthy and feisty. He eats layena crumble, grapes, cat food, corn, bread, it varies, there is always crumble. He is cooped with other chickens as well as Guinea Fowl, and is out in a large pen during the day. He started having this problem about 9 days ago. I segregated him to see if he was actually passing stool. He was (with great difficulty), and it was liquidy and smelly. After treating him with yogurt and grapes to eat, soaking his behind, and putting vaseline on it, , he started having normal, greenish, formed stools after about 2 to 3 days. So I put him back out with the rest of the birds. Today he started with the straining to stool again, but now he isn't going at all. And his back end is bulging when he tries, but only brown water comes out, and he appears to be in pain when he does this, (he's making noises when he's straining). I haven't changed his diet at all lately.
