Rooster can't reach roosting bar...

Hello!

I have a black bantam frizzle cochin rooster in my coop. He sleeps in the nesting box because he can't reach the top roosting bar. I honestly have no idea why he wouldn't just sleep on the lower bar (we have a high and low bar in our hen house). Is he sleeping in the nesting box because he wants to or should I install something to make it easier for him to get up there. Thanks!

How old is he? Usually chickens figure it out. ...

Tell us more about your:
Flock-numbers, ages, genders, how long in flock.
Coop- size in feet by feet, roosts in feet length and height, and pics are always good.

The two things that come to mind are; small coop and too little roosting space, and/or frizzles have poor flying ability compared to other birds of the same breed. Mary

I have found that chickens that are being bullied will often sleep and hide in the nest boxes.
