Rooster chasing chipmunk

I’m new to chickens. They are 10 weeks old. One of the dominant ones ( not sure on sex) chased a chipmunk today out of the chicken run. As if protecting the flock. Would you say that’s a rooster trait or do hens also do that? There she/he is. The gray and white Easter egger.

Hens do that too. They’re still young and curious about everything. They’ve probably never seen a chipmunk before. They were probably like what is that thing!? Plus chickens love chasing stuff haha

It still looks like a pullet to me but you probably have to wait till they lay or crow to be sure haha

But I think you would know if it was a rooster by now.
 
Both sexes will chase various critters - frogs, rodents, native birds, rabbits, etc. I've had many more hens do this than the males.

I do wish they would be more proactive in dispactching rodents though. We have too many voles, mice, chimpunks and squirrels.
