Rooster Collar Opinions?

Bantam cochins are big enough to breed standard hens quite easily. Most people keep them for pets. You could keep him in in a dog crate at night if you have a garage.Predators kill rather easily because they can't fly and are chubby .Their feathered feet are adorable.Edit: If yu can get a barred cochin rooster and breed him to your rhode island red hens the chicks will be sex links

A barred cochin rooster crossed with an unbarred hen would not produce sex links. Both male and female offspring would look the same as chicks, since they would both be barred.

I do have a coop that he would be going to at night, free ranging only where I can see them while I garden, and do house chores, so I dont think he would need to be locked away at night, and I love the idea of him being a cochin! We have a black cochin now and she's just lovely
