Rooster Comb is weird and suddenly not eating

That's a tough one. Is he getting along with the other roosters and hens?

If you isolate him, then you may have trouble re-integrating him back with the others.

But, if he's weak, not eating and not feeling very well, then isolating him will give him a break so he can rest, you can treat him and make sure he's eating/drinking.

He usually gets along with the flock really well and mostly chases the hens away from food. For the last two days, he wasn't showing interest in eating, but today I noticed he was eating a bit in the cage. If it's not highly contagious and dangerous to other chickens, I would like to put him back into the coop.

We aren't vets, so are giving you our best opinions/suggestions on what we see and from your description.

If this is Favus, it could spread to the others. You are seeing a small amount on one of the other roosters too.

It would be up to you to research and determine what risks you want to take. If you are treating all that are affected, then likely the spread would be minimal, but it's hard to know.

I do agree, he would likely do much better being with the flock, but I'd watch him carefully to make sure he's not being kept from food/water by the others and is getting along o.k.

Oh yup, got it. I can understand. I am thinking to isolate him for a while and see how it goes.

But really, I can't thank you enough for the help for a first-timer like me. Much appreciated..
