Rooster crowing

So, turns out all he wants to do is mate with the babies 😒 He’s asking for the boot
Naughty boy! I didn't know roosters would do that. You're sure he's not just trying to kill them? I'm not sure if that would be better or worse...

My rooster will immediately "welcome" POL girls, but last year I got a couple who were too young and he chased them around trying to attack. A few weeks of separation later and he seemed to recognize them as part of his harem.

Hopefully if you keep them all in the coop, but separated, they'll learn to tolerate each other? Is there enough of a size difference you could make a baby-sized hole the rooster wouldn't fit thru so they can mingle, but still escape?

He did a funny, sideways dance first, then grabbed poor Jill. He was definitely trying to mate with her 😣 He grabbed the back of her neck, and she tried to get away so he just started shaking her while she screamed. It was horrible. I immediately broke it up and grabbed Jill. The rooster walked away with a beak full of her feathers. I think if I wasn’t there, it would’ve ended very badly. This morning when I went to let him out of the coop, he tried to attack me. I don’t know what his problem is 😒
