Rooster Dance

I hope mine becomes the same. I heard cochins and orpingtons are good rooster. So I hope mine calms down.
I had a Cochin rooster and he was a big goof ball. He didn’t want to be touched but I can handle him without problems when necessary. He took such good care of his flock and was hilarious when he ran because he was so big and awkward. He was taken out by a predator and I miss him a lot.

My Swedish Flower roosters went through what you were describing when they were at that age and I had 2 of them at the same age. But they never did the dance in front of me, they did it to the hens. And now they are older at 7+ months, there very easy going and doing there rooster duties.

I've got a buff orpington roo he is a couple months older than yours he also went through a stage where he gave me fancy feet and even tried to flog me I cured that real fast by scooping him up mid attack and carrying him around making him sit in my lap for pets and treats he now comes running when I call him and willingly gets in my lap I hope yours gets better with age

I’ve heard that can make it worse? I haven’t tried it for myself. I wonder if it just depends on your rooster. I really would like for my aggressive rooster to calm down. I honestly feel bad for the guy because the other rooster chases him away so he spends most of the day alone. In fact he has frost bite in his comb because he couldn’t join the cuddle pile on a day when it was only 17deg outside during the day

I think it depends on the roo I've got a RIR that's aggressive to everyone except me and I did the same to him as I did my buff orpington. I added a pic of my BO roo Dude this was taken about a month after I started carrying him around if I'm outside he is wherever I am 20200904_083148.jpg

I have an orpington rooster and had doubts if he was going to be a good rooster.
This morning he started to do the rooster dance and I think it is a good sign.
He does does stomp his feet at me and give me the side stare once in awhile, after I carry him for 10 minutes or so he calms down.
Does roosters calm down with age? He is about 5 months going on 6 months.

Here is one of my EE roos, Gilbert... Looking VERY annoyed that I didn't bring him treats. Lol He is apx 5 months old, and super sweet to too me, even though he ALWAYS looks mad. Haha

I did not know so many people had roosters. I think having one is good and they are so beautiful. Man I love that picture. He looks like a carton character. He looks like he is saying "WTF where is my food?"

Here is my rooster Solo. He used to be called hen solo but he turned out to be a rooster.
