Rooster decision, please help

Big Rusty (my boy)

Here he is with some full grown Guineas for size comparison

I think the problem is Rusty is a LF and Little Mr. is a bantam. A lot of people go to the feed store and get bantams because "they are so small and tiny I just have to get one" and they don't realize that bantams MUST be kept in separate coops than LF for that exact reason, the LF can (and will) kill the bantams.

You'll have to tell me what LF means please...

These were actually all bought in the same mixed breed batch at a chicken swap, it was a mixed breed, leftover, straight run special :)

ah... now I am in the know :)

we have a grapevine arbor structure that we are going to quickly wrap with wire and make another coop. that will help for the moment. I'm still not sure of the long term solution-- i mean I know that apparently we have several boys who want to be king of the roost, and I can't see myself wanting to manage 3 flocks. I think that will a little modification we could manage two flocks and they could alternate days to free range, but not 3 flocks. One of the boys is going to have to go.... I assume it will be Little Guy (no pictures of him) He is not really anyone's pet although the kids don't want to even consider him leaving.

I don't know that I'll ever want to actually breed any chickens, but if I did, I can picture wanting Rusty to father them, rather than one of the banty boys.
